Is long-term care (Family Care, IRIS, Partnership, Children’s Waiver Services, County Long-Term Care) important to you? Do you have questions about the Family Care caps?

The Wisconsin Senate Health Committee will ask speakers from the Department of Health Services questions about the status of Family Care on Wednesday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. in room 412 East, State Capitol.

This is a good opportunity for you to remind your legislator how important long-term care supports are to you, your family, and others you know. You can ask your legislator to pay close attention to this October 5 question-and-answer session and report back to you on any developments. Take a moment to remind your legislator that Governor Walker has said that he hopes to lift the cap on Family Care by the end of this year.

If you have specific questions about how the Family Care caps are being implemented in your county, let your legislators know and ask them to submit a question for this hearing. Even if your legislators are not a member of the Senate Health Committee, they can still submit questions.

Find your legislator’s contact information here: http://legis.wisconsin.gov/w3asp/waml/waml.aspx

If you or someone you know is waiting for long-term supports, encourage them to fill out this brief survey.
