This training is based on the CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid from the Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning

Summary: If you or your staff members are struggling with the behaviors of children in your center, join us to learn tips and strategies for working with children who are acting out.  An important shift will take place as we challenge ourselves to respectfully look at the behaviors using the child's perspective. The workshop will contain hands-on activities and time for discussion and reflection.

Participants will:

  • Know how to apply effective responses to challenging behavior
  • Know how to prevent challenging behavior
  • Discover what to do when intervention is necessary
  • Learn to identify factors that may be contributing to the child's challenging behaviors.
  • Become informed about the ADA (American with Disabilities Act), the IDEA (Individual with Disabilities Act) and how children must receive services in LRE (Least Restrictive Environments).
  • Find out how to access resources in your community

Target Audience: Child care and Head Start teachers working with children from birth to age 5; administrators, 4K teachers, Family child care providers.
