The Model Communities project, funded by the Wisconsin Medicaid Infrastructure Grant through the Department of Health Services, is looking for people with innovative ideas on how to make their community more welcoming and inclusive of all people, including people with disabilities.
The goal of the Model Communities project is to discover promising approaches to include people with disabilities more fully and naturally in school, work, and community activities. The project believes that when all people in the community are included, relationships are built that lead to a better quality of life.
If you, or someone you know, has a passion for seeing people with disabilities included in your community, has an idea for how to make that happen and knows your community well, please apply. Also, please distribute widely to your other networks. Please see the project announcement and application for more information.

Will there be another Model Communities Project offered in 2010? I am very passionate about individuals with intellectual disabilities and have innovative ideas on how to make that possible in our community. Your assistance is greatly appreciated as I work to meet professional and personal goals.Thank you,
