I object to the Governor's budget because I find it unfair for four reasons. 1. It is aimed at helping business without care to help the people who live in WI. 2. It was not crafted with accurate financial information. Local government and school leaders should have been contacted before the budget was written to obtain their financial information. For example, the 8% benefits asked of public worker paychecks is not large enough to make up for state cuts as the state budget assumes. 3. Statistics show that public workers are more highly educated and have lower incomes than private workers. Yet public workers are singled out to be penalized by the state budget. 4. It is not ethical for a state budget to allow so many WI children to live in poverty while so many WI citizens with the ability to help them are not asked to do so.
