The Senate Health, Health Insurance, Privacy, Property Tax Relief, and Revenue Committee will hold a public hearing for SB-27, the Hearing Aids and Cochlear Implants Bill on Wednesday, March 18 at 10:30 Am in Room 411 South of the State Capitol.
SB-27 requires health insurance coverage of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other hearing devices for persons under 18 who have hearing loss.
This bill is similar to one that was introduced during the last legislative session; however this bill is more inclusive. It now covers children up to the age of 18. It includes a more complete definition of cochlear implants so that other implanted devices would be covered. It also includes coverage for services and treatments until the age of 18.
