Wisconsin is changing the way Long Term Care (LTC) Services are provided, and this could mean a big change for residents in Madison and the surrounding area. Counties around the state are beginning the transition to Family Care and IRIS, two new programs that will change the way services are being provided to people with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, and frail elders. Dane County will be making some big decisions soon and a community forum will be held to discuss the future of Long Term Care in Dane County.
People with developmental disabilities and physical disabilities, seniors, and people on a waiting list or receiving waiver services are all encouraged to attend.
The forum will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Urban League Work Center, located at 2222 S. Park Street in Madison.
Presenters:
Susan Crowley — Administrator of the Division of Long Term Care: Department of Health Services
Betsy Abrahmson — Family Care and IRIS Ombudsman: Disability Rights Wisconsin
Kim Turner — Developmental Disabilities Coalition of Dane County

Because I am a care provider for 2 ladies with disabilities, I would like to be kept abreast of any and all new developments in the financial and living changes which may be on the horizon.
