On Thursday, September 16, Cindy Bentley will be signing copies of her new book at the Barnes & Noble near West Towne Mall in Madison. The book, Cindy Bentley: Spirit of a Champion, is the latest in the Badger Biography series for young readers. The book celebrates Cindy Bentley’s life as one of Wisconsin's most inspirational leaders and activists.
Born with an intellectual disability as the result of fetal alcohol syndrome, Cindy Bentley spent much of her childhood at the Southern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled. No one expected her to learn the skills necessary to live on her own. To everyone's surprise - including her own - she did that and much more.
Caroline Hoffman and Bob Kann – co-authors of the book – will also be in attendance. The book signing will be held at 7 p.m.
