What: Mark your calendars for a Brown Bag Candidate Forum on disability issues featuring Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly Candidates in the Milwaukee Area
When: Friday, October 3, 2008 from Noon – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 W. Vliet Street, Milwaukee, WI
More: ARC Milwaukee, IndependenceFirst, Disability Rights Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition invite you to join them for a forum on disabilities issues featuring candidates for the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly. Please join us to hear the candidates discuss issues of importance to the disabilities community such as long term care, transportation, access to services and government funding. The following candidates have been invited:
Senate District 8: Alberta Darling (R) Sheldon Wasserman (D)
Assembly District 14: Dave Hucke (D) Leah Vukmir (R)
Assembly District 21: Glen Brower (D) Mark Honadel (R)
Assembly District 22: Sandy Pasch (D) Yash Wadhwa (R)
Also, Hear from Milwaukee County Supervisors about the November 4th advisory referendum:
"Shall the State of Wisconsin grant Milwaukee County the authority to provide property tax relief of at least sixty-five million dollars ($65 million) by levying a one percent (1%) county sales and use tax to be used to remove the following three items from the property tax levy: parks recreation culture, transit, and emergency medical services (EMS)?"
- Bring your own lunch. Beverages will be provided by Disability Rights Wisconsin.
