Online Self Advocacy Course

In collaboration with the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS), the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), the Department of Health Services, UW-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute, and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College; the University of Wisconsin-Madison has developed a self-advocacy course designed to prepare special education professionals to teach a competency-based curriculum in self advocacy for students with disabilities.
This course is available online in both credit and non-credit formats. There will be one face-to-face meeting scheduled during a time and location conducive to participants.
Dates are: Summer 2010: July 12-30
Through this course, special education professionals will be able to identify and apply the key components in collaboration with the Becoming a Self Advocate Student curriculum. The following is a list of the competencies within the Facilitating Self Advocacy course.
Cost: $566.44 (2 University Special Student credits), $100 (non-credit)
