DAWN WORKFORCE
ADVOCACY GRANTS
Wisconsin Council on Developmental Disabilities will again award DAWN Workforce Advocacy Grants. These grants will support a wide range of advocacy activities that will strengthen the community developmental disabilities workforce and empower direct service workers.
Grants up to $1000.00 will be available starting August 1, 2004 for a project period ending no later than May 30, 2005. The application deadline for this cycle of grants was Friday, July 16, 2004, 4:30 p.m. Mailed or hand-delivered grant applications must have arrived at WCDD by the deadline.
Direct service workers were eligible for the grants. WCDD encourages direct service workers to partner with other direct service workers, people with disabilities, their families, and/or other community members. The projects can result in an empowered workforce supporting people with disabilities. Providers and other organizations are invited to encourage and help direct service workers to develop and implement a Workforce Advocacy Grant.
