Survival Coalition 2009-2011 Budget Paper

The Survival Coalition of Wisconsin Disability Organizations has developed a budget paper for the 2009-2011 Biennial Budget. In addition to the budget paper there is a Statement of Principles that serves as the basis for the budget paper. The budget paper discusses finding the right balance in the next budget so that people with disabilities will have the services and supports they need to live quality lives. The paper examines the long-term care system, the mental health system, special education, community living, and health care reform.

This paper focuses on the community as being the place for people with disabilities. It addresses six areas of concern that can be addressed on the budget. - 2007-2009 Legislative Session Report
The report focuses on the major disability bills that were introduced in the session and what happened to each.

Introduction
The Survival Coalition of Wisconsin Disability Organizations will promote conditions in which all people with disabilities in Wisconsin:
- will receive the supports they need,
- can choose to live their lives as they wish, and
- will have the opportunity to be full participants in community life.
