PEOPLE CAN'T WAIT CAMPAIGN INTRODUCTION
Our purpose is to organize a solid, sustainable cross-disability advocacy movement in which people with disabilities, family members, advocates and others who choose to work in support of people with disabilities become and remain a powerful voice for a system of public and community support consistent with the vision of the Survival Coalition.
Some of the issues that the People Can't Wait Campaign focuses on include:
- Create needed funding for a valued, stable, and growing workforce of support professionals
- Reform the way we Finance Campaigns
- Redesign the system of support for children and families
- Pass Mental Health Parity legislation
- Create needed funding for special education
- Reform Voting and Election laws to make them more accessible
People Can't Wait Advocacy Cards
The Wisconisn Council on Developmental Disabilities has developed a series of issue advocacy cards on the 2005-07 State Budget for the People Can't Wait campaign. These are available both on-line and from the WCDD office.
