Getting back to health insurance, though, I'd like to show you some of the financial effects that the escalation in health insurance costs have had on Dungarvin. First of all, let me explain that Dungarvin participates in two different health insurance plans - a Preferred Provider Option (PPO) and a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Dungarvin has about 600 employees who serve about 375 individuals with disabilities all over the state.

The reason we've had to offer two plans to our employees is because the HMO offered by Dean Clinic, which employees prefer, is only available in a restricted number of communities (those in which Dean Clinic offers services, including Madison, Janesville, Baraboo, and Portage). Our PPO plan covers our employees in the rest of the state, including Milwaukee, Marinette, La Crosse, and Eau Claire.
