Take Your Legislator to Work and SPARKS Grants
Take Your Legislator to Work Campaign
]To celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) is mounting the Take Your Legislator to Work Campaign to acknowledge and celebrate Wisconsin workers with disabilities. Governor Walker has made job creation a priority for our state and it’s time to showcase the skills and talents of people with disabilities in Wisconsin.
The BPDD is looking for people with disabilities who love their jobs and want to show their legislator the importance of community employment. People who participate in the Take Your Legislator to Work Campaign will have their legislator visit them briefly at work sometime during the month of October. The BPDD will provide support to participants by facilitating initial contact with their legislator, scheduling their legislator’s visit, and assisting with any other logistics.
The BPDD is also looking for facilitators to work with individuals in their region to coordinate visits.
If you would like to participate or act as a facilitator, please contact Beth Moss at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 608-266-7826 or 888-332-1677.
