The conference will be held October 29-31, 2012, at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The theme for this year’s conference is The Art of Self-Determination: Learning, Connecting, and Making Change (check out the agenda). All conference activities, presentations, and workshops focus on topics that will help people with disabilities in Wisconsin be more self-determined and ways that agencies and individuals can support them. The conference is sponsored by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities, In Control Wisconsin, and People First Wisconsin.

The three-day conference starts on Monday, Oct. 29 with dynamic pre-conference sessions in the afternoon, which will be followed by the Art Night Kick-Off. Days 1 and 2 of the conference – Tuesday, Oct. 30 and Wednesday, Oct. 31 – will feature powerful keynote presentations, a talent show, and many sessions that will provide participants with excellent learning opportunities.

Session topics will include: youth transition, community-supported living, employment and self-direction, hiring your own staff, meaningful transitions, financial asset building, developing a business plan, getting involved in your community, what it means to self-direct, healthy relationships, and more! Learn more about the conference.

Also, there are still opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors to get involved with the conference.
