Right now, advocacy season is in full swing, and Disability Advocates: Wisconsin Network (DAWN) has new tools to help disability advocates increase their effectiveness.
DAWN has historically issued email alerts to keep disability advocates in the loop regarding advocacy opportunities. Due to the fast-paced nature of advocacy opportunities today, DAWN is implementing Rapid Alerts. DAWN members can sign-up to receive text messages so they can advocate immediately on time-sensitive disability issues. Members can also sign-up to tell their story so that policymakers are aware of real issues affecting people with disabilities and their families.
The other new feature DAWN is implementing is the DAWN Dashboard. Each member of DAWN will have a personalized Dashboard that allows them to manage their membership, including how they receive alerts. The Dashboard will also feature information about a member’s legislators, including the legislators’ contact information as well as Facebook, Twitter, and websites if available.
DAWN is not changing, only getting better. DAWN will continue to issue timely and important disability-related advocacy alerts. The new tools will help members get information faster, tell their story, and make contacting their legislators easier than ever.
