Independent Living Center State Plan Hearing on January 23
The Independent Living Council of Wisconsin (ILCW) is hosting a public hearing at its office, 3810 Milwaukee Street, Madison, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. The hearing is part of the effort of the Council and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) to develop a State Plan for Independent Living for three years beginning Oct. 1, 2013.
The ILCW is a council whose members are appointed by the Governor to plan for Independent Living Services in the State of Wisconsin. Independent Living Services are services to people with significant disabilities to help them live independently. These services are delivered in Wisconsin through the eight consumer-controlled Centers for Independent Living.
Your participation will help develop a plan that meets the independent living needs of people with all types of disability and all ages in Wisconsin. The ILCW is specifically asking for input about how the five major goals in our current plan should be modified or supplemented to meet individuals’ independent living needs.
