Complete the BPDD Self-Determination Survey
Self-Advocates: your input is very important to us!
Are you an included and valued member of your community? How much control do you feel you have over your own life?
The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) would like to know how involved you are in your community, and how much control you have in your life. BPDD works to ensure people with developmental disabilities have the opportunity to be active, valued members of the community and feel empowered to make decisions about their own lives.
BPDD’s Self-Determination Survey will help get a better understanding of how involved you are in your community, how valued you feel, how much control you have over your life, and how BPDD can support you in these efforts.
The survey is anonymous and can be completed online. Please complete the survey by Nov. 1, 2012.
Advocate Faster with Rapid Alerts
Coming soon, DAWN will offer members the ability to receive Rapid Alerts via text message and/or phone calls so they can take action faster! In the past, advocacy around certain disability issues has been needed immediately, and Rapid Alerts will provide disability advocates in Wisconsin with the opportunity to be even more effective.
DAWN will still provide email alerts about advocacy opportunities, such as legislative and other public hearings, upcoming elections, events, grants, etc. Rapid Alerts, on the other hand, will be less frequent than email alerts and only sent when the need for advocacy is urgent.
When Rapid Alerts are available, DAWN members will be asked to update their contact information to ensure the right messages are getting to the right advocates. DAWN will unveil a new Dashboard for individual members that will feature quick links to contact information for their legislators.
