Let’s Get to Work RFP
The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) through the Let’s Get to Work youth employment grant. Let’s Get to Work is seeking four Wisconsin high schools interested in improving the employment outcomes of their students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) ages 15 to 17. Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to $20,000 in the first year (with an option of continuing on a step-down payment basis for up to three years) and will work closely with a Coaching Team that provides training and technical assistance in a variety of employment-related areas. Schools will be asked to adhere to a set of intervention strategies that will be provided to each team.

The deadline to apply is January 17, 2012. A Question and Answer Call will be held on December 13, 2011 at 3:30 pm. For additional details, please review the RFP.

Arts Wide Open Grants
The BPDD and Arts @ Large are pleased to announce Arts Wide Open, a special project that uses the arts as an agent for change to create inclusive learning environments for 4th and 5th grade students of all learning abilities. Four grants of $5,000 per school will be awarded.

Successful school applicants commit to have participating classroom teachers attend a one-day professional development training to prepare them for planning a project. The knowledge gained at the training will be used to teach students how to craft a school museum that showcases their work.

Applications will be accepted from schools interested in exploring this innovative model as a tool for inclusive, project-based learning. Each participating school may enroll two classrooms that include students with disabilities. All activities must be inclusive of all students, including those students with disabilities.

The deadline to apply is December 9, 2011. For additional details, please review the announcement and application.
