Testify at a Public Hearing in Your Region

The Joint Finance Committee will hold four public hearings around the state to get feedback from Wisconsinites regarding the 2013-2015 State Budget. The hearings will be held in Greendale (4/4), Green Bay (4/8), Lake Delton (4/10), and Baldwin (4/18).

The state budget will have a big impact on people with disabilities and their families. It is important that the Committee hear from disability advocates so people with disabilities and their families are not forgotten while the next state budget is developed. Please attend a hearing and raise your voice about disability issues!

Also, panels will be organized for each hearing so that groups can come up to testify together about specific topics at the hearings. If you are interested in being a panel member for one or more of the topics below, please contact Dan Trifone at or (608) 266-0266. The panel topics are:

  • Family Care/IRIS expansion
  • Special needs vouchers and education funding
  • Transportation
  • Workforce investment funding targeted toward people with disabilities
  • Mental health

If you are unable to attend a public hearing but still want to be heard, submit your written comments to or mail them to Joe Malkasian, Room 305 East, State Capitol, Madison, WI 53702.
