The first Wisconsin Integrated Employment Summit is less than two weeks away. Have you registered yet?

If not, you still have time to register so you can attend the summit and learn about great ways to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities! This event is open to everyone, and if you plan on attending, please forward this message to other people you know.

The summit will provide an overview of innovative employment practices and success stories from throughout the state of Wisconsin.

At the summit, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about programs and strategies from around the state that are leading to more people with long-term support needs finding and keeping competitive-wage, community-based jobs;
  • meet in small groups to brainstorm and develop ideas for increasing employment for people with disabilities in their region;
  • and much more (check out the agenda)!

Also, Laura Owens, the Executive Director of National APSE, will deliver the keynote address “Employment First: Planning for Statewide Action.”

Event Info: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.

Registration: To register for the summit, visit the online registration page. The registration fee is $25. To request an event fee waiver, contact Ann Sievert prior to registering online. Contact Ann at ann.sievert@wisconsin.gov or (608) 267-9897. The deadline to register is Friday, May 18.

Exhibit at the Summit: If you would like to have a table at the summit, please complete and submit the Exhibitor Application. The deadline to apply to have a table is Friday, May 18.

This is the first of many employment events that will be co-sponsored by the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (BPDD) and APSE throughout the upcoming years.
