Public Comments on Personal Care Provider Travel Rate Cuts - Due 3-30-12

The Department of Health Services plans to reduce the reimbursement for personal care travel on April 1, 2012. The reduction in travel reimbursement rates could impact people receiving services because some agencies anticipate that they will have to stop serving some people.

UNDERSTANDING MY DISABILITIES

Learning is a different avenue for many students who have a learning disability, a language barrier, or who are gifted and talented.  In this course, you will participate in simulations that will help you learn through the eyes of your students who are unique.  An emphasis will be on what each disability entails the strengths and abilities of students, and simple strategies that will be useful in your classroom. Participants will examine their own perceptions of various abilities, will be able to recognize students’ abilities and disabilities, and will transfer newly acquired information to their teaching environment.

Youth Leadership Forum

WHAT: The 11th Annual Wisconsin Youth Leadership Forum (WI YLF) is a week-long leadership training and career awareness program for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors with disabilities. It provides training in leadership, self-advocacy skills, and career awareness to approximately 25 students with disabilities from throughout the state of Wisconsin.
