Meet an Advocate: Rick Petzke

Rick Petzke is a self-advocate from Madison. He is a member of AmeriCorps and People First-Stoughton. Rick recently graduated from BPDD’s Partners in Policymaking program and, as part of his AmeriCorps work, has been working in the BPDD office since August.

Election Tools for Disability Advocates

Tuesday, Nov. 6 is Election Day, but now is the time for disability advocates to raise awareness about the issues important to them. BPDD partnered with People First and WDVC to create tools to help advocates get involved this election season.

SPARKS Project: The Kickapoo Harvest

A SPARKS grant from BPDD allowed Employment Partnerships, Inc. to team up with the Farm to Pantry Project to create the Kickapoo Harvest: Gleaning for Healthy Communities Project. The project, conducted this summer, aimed to increase community-integrated employment for people with disabilities while providing healthy food to people in the community.
