A press event to raise awareness of what is at stake for recipients of Medicaid – including BadgerCare, SeniorCare, Family Care, children’s waivers and other vital programs in the Governor’s Budget Repair Bill.
A media event will be held tomorrow in Madison to support Wisconsin Medicaid and raise the voices of people with disabilities, working families, older adults, and others with a stake in Wisconsin's health.
The State Senate and State Assembly will vote on a bill to fix the budget deficit in the current fiscal year this week. The bill contains an important change that will impact Medicaid.
Senate Bill 11 and Assembly Bill 11 - called the Budget Repair Bill - was written to help balance Wisconsin’s current budget, but makes other changes which will have significant impact on persons with disabilities and their families.
The 2011 Rehabilitation & Transition Conference, which aims to enhance community living for people with disabilities and economic disadvantages in Wisconsin, will take place April 6 – 8, 2011 at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.
This learning and action forum is designed for parents or other family members to gain new information and skills that will enhance their efforts to improve the lives of children and young adults with disabilities. This free event will be held on March 30 & 31, 2011, at the Concourse Hotel in Madison. The deadline to register is February 23, 2011.
